Target Audience:

Those personnel who are to assume the role of Authorised Person (MGPS) defined
in HTM 2022 and whom their executive manager will appoint in writing from the
recommendation of an Authorising Engineer's assessment. The course will place
particular emphasis on the use of the Permit to Work System, preparation of an
Operational Policy and the control of MGPS maintenance and will involve completion
of a MGPS system compliance exercise as part of the course assessment process.

Personnel whom have assumed the roll of Authorised Person and have previously
attended a full AP course. Health Technical Memorandum 2022 (HTM 2022) advocates
refresher training and re-assessment of practicing Authorised Persons (MGPS) on a
three yearly basis. This course provides not only a means of updating and refreshing
the required knowledge but also, by virtue of the assessment criteria applied, a
defined standard of achievement which your Authorising Engineer can take into
account as part of the re-assessment procedure.
